    Elegant Art Studio - Art for the Discerning Palette
    Welcome to my virtual studio! I am self taught, and use many types of  materials. I enjoy creating realistic impressions, carving, and pyrography. My choice of materials include Italian poplar, tupelo, basswood, gourds, leather, bamboo, fiber, and paper using  various techniques and colors to create contemporary art forms.
    I create one-of-a-kind, distinctive art by combining traditional mediums in non-traditional ways. Utilizing pyroengraving, carving, dyes, acrylics, and fiber techniques, I enhance the natural beauty of my art  materials. Adding pine needles, tenerife weaving, horsehair, feathers, and beads further enhances the overall  visual, textural, and sculptural effects on three dimensional gourds. These  techniques create beautiful utilitarian art forms and unique one-of-a-kind designer art sculptures. I have received awards in state, national, and international juried competitions, and my art is represented at Ridge Spring, SC, art gallery.
